Engr. Apollos Samchi has hosted a youth parley in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, bringing together young people, political stakeholders and government officials to discuss youth participation, unity and the future of the state.
The gathering, held on Saturday, attracted the Plateau State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Prince Miaphen, members of the APC State Executive Council and several other dignitaries and youth leaders.

In his remarks, Engr. Apollos Samchi expressed appreciation to Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for finding him worthy of an appointment in his administration.
Samchi said he was particularly delighted to have the opportunity to interact directly with young people, describing such engagements as important for understanding their concerns and encouraging them to play a constructive role in society.
He urged the youths to remain law-abiding and responsible citizens, while also commending Governor Mutfwang for what he described as his deliberate effort to give young people opportunities to serve in government.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Prince Miaphen, appreciated Governor Mutfwang for his vision and commitment to the development of Plateau State.
Miaphen urged the people of Plateau to guard against allowing their diverse ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds to become a source of division, stressing the importance of unity in building a peaceful and prosperous state.
He equally commended the Governor for giving youths considerable representation in his cabinet, noting that their inclusion in governance provides an opportunity for young people to contribute their energy and ideas to the development of Plateau.
The Commissioner later moved a motion seeking the support of participants for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang in 2027. The motion received the unanimous support of those present.
The event also featured an interactive session, during which participants had the opportunity to engage the speakers on issues concerning governance, youth development and political participation.
Other dignitaries who addressed the gathering included Hon. Mathew Kwarpo, Hon. David Barji and several other political stakeholders, who shared their views and encouraged the youths to remain actively involved in the affairs of the state.

The major highlight of the event was the formal endorsement of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for a second term in office and the inauguration of Samchi’s Advocates for Mutfwang/Tinubu 2027, a platform aimed at mobilising support for both leaders ahead of the 2027 elections.
The programme ended with a social night, where the youths and other participants relaxed, interacted and celebrated in a convivial atmosphere.
The parley provided an avenue for meaningful engagement between the youths, government representatives and political stakeholders, while further strengthening calls for unity, responsible citizenship and greater youth participation in the political process.
