The Alumni Association of Theological College of Northern Nigeria (AATCNN) has officially laid the foundation for its Secretariat Complex on July 18, 2025, at the TCNN campus in Bukuru, Jos South Local Government. The ceremony was performed by the Provost of TCNN, Rev. Prof. James Jemeyira Reynolds, in the presence of distinguished guests, college leadership, alumni members, and students.
The project is a monumental achievement for the alumni association, aimed at bringing development and creating history for future generations. The complex will serve as a hub for alumni operations, providing dedicated offices, a multipurpose hall, guest rooms, and a business center to support sustainability.
In his welcome address, Pastor Dr. Hankuri Tawus Gaya, General Secretary of AATCNN, emphasized that the project is not just about infrastructure but a legacy in the making. He urged alumni members and friends of TCNN to contribute generously towards the project, estimated to cost over ₦90 million.
AATCNN is a legally registered body with the Corporate Affairs Commission, and our Board of Trustees serve as the custodians of the association’s vision and continuity. This project is not just about infrastructure, it is a legacy in the making.
What we lay today is more than stone, it is a statement of faith in the future. This Secretariat Complex will provide dedicated offices for alumni operations, a multipurpose hall, guest rooms for alumni visitors, and a business centre to support sustainability. This is our investment in coordination, continuity, and contribution to the body of Christ and the ongoing mission of this College.
To the students present here today, know that this project is also for you. It symbolizes the pathway of growth that begins from these classrooms and continues through alumni support and community. One day, you too will benefit from this vision, and you too will be called to build.
The entire project is estimated to cost over ₦90 million, while the substructure phase, which we are beginning today, requires about ₦12 million. We believe this is possible because we believe in the strength of our shared vision and in the commitment of our members.
We deeply appreciate the support of the College leadership, our BOT, our EXCO team, and the Planning Committee. We appeal to all alumni and friends of TCNN to give generously toward this project. Let us not only lay a foundation in concrete but also build a future that generations will walk into.
The Provost of TCNN, Rev. Prof. James Jemeyira Reynolds, expressed gratitude to the alumni members for the initiative and appealed for meaningful contributions to complete the project. He noted that even a small contribution of ₦5,000 from each alumni member could ensure the project’s timely completion.
The Architect of the project, Arch. Stephen Gyang Davou, a member of the alumni, explained that the project’s cost had increased from ₦70 million to over ₦90 million due to current rates. The building will be a one-story structure with a single floor, designed to fit in with the existing structures on campus.
The event featured prayers from TEKAN and the management of TCNN, goodwill messages from senior members of the alumni, and a vote of thanks by the Provost. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the history of AATCNN and TCNN, highlighting the commitment of the alumni association to its vision and mission.
The project is expected to enhance the coordination and continuity of alumni activities, while also providing a lasting legacy for future generations. With the foundation laid, the alumni association is optimistic about completing the project and making it a reality.
