In what has been widely described as a peaceful, transparent, and inclusive electoral process, the College of Education Gindiri Alumni Association (CEGAA), National Chapter, has elected a new National Executive Committee to steer the affairs of the association for the next four year term.
The keenly contested elections, which took place in Gindiri on Saturday, saw vibrant participation from alumni across various graduating sets.
Delegates arrived with high expectations and a shared commitment to choosing credible leaders who will uphold the ideals of their alma mater and move the association forward.
Emerging as President is Chief Moses Nwan, f.chd.mni, Ph.D, a retired Permanent Secretary, policy & General Administration, and Executive Private Secretary to Plateau State governor, Caleb Manasseh Muftwang; known for his dedication to youth development, Since the inception of the Alumni, it has never had a large turnout & goodwill, such as this until Chief Nwan showed up for the contest and alumni engagement.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Moses Nwan, f.chd.mni,Ph.D thanked the electoral committee and members for entrusting him with the mandate to lead, pledging to foster unity, accountability, and impactful projects for the association.
“This victory is not mine alone—it belongs to all of us. I am committed to reviving the spirit of service, strengthening our alumni bonds, and working with every member to build a CEGAA that is proud, purposeful, and productive,” Chief Nwan said.
Also elected to key positions are:
* Vice President: Comrade Kumshin Joel Ashinan
* Secretary: Comrade Fukji Emmanuel
* Director of Socials (DOS): Simji Polit (popularly known as “Yobo”)
* Financial Secretary: Kilson Panshak (aka “Future”)
* Treasurer: Simi Umar
* Public Relations Officer (PRO): Isah Adamu
* Auditor I: Kromtit Pankyes
* Auditor II: Habu Chanfa
The elections were overseen by a respected Electoral Committee and observed by senior members of the association. There were no reported incidents, and the entire process was praised for its fairness and efficiency.
The newly elected team has already begun consultations on their immediate action plan, which includes expanding alumni engagement, supporting current students of the school, and initiating legacy projects that reflect the strength and solidarity of the CEGAA network.
With the enthusiasm generated during the election and the renewed sense of direction, many believe CEGAA is entering a new era of purpose-driven leadership and collective progress.
