A delegation of 17 former Transition Implementation Committee (TIC) Secretaries, comprising 15 women and 2 men, led by Hon. Helen Adewumi Rangdat, paid a solidarity visit to the Plateau State Commissioner of Information and Communication, Rt. Hon. Joyce Lohya Ramnap, mni.
The purpose of the visit was to seek partnership, familiarize themselves with the ministry, and pledge loyalty and support to the Governor Caleb Mutfwang-led administration.
The delegation congratulated Hon. Ramnap on her appointment and commended her for effectively publicizing the activities of the state government. They expressed admiration for her leadership and capacity in the information sector, noting that her performance is a testament to the Governor’s ability to identify and utilize talent.
speaking on behalf of the forum, Hon. Nansel Christopher, emphasized their willingness to offer their experience, networks, and grassroots knowledge in support of the current administration. “We are ready to serve as good foot soldiers in our various LGAs, helping to disseminate government policies and amplify the Governor’s achievements at the ward level,” he said.
The forum also praised the Commissioner’s initiative of convening a statewide press briefing, where heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) presented their scorecards, describing it as a commendable show of transparency and accountability.
In response, Hon. Ramnap thanked the delegation for their visit and charged them to be good foot soldiers in their respective LGAs. “If you can deliver, you will be called upon,” she assured them, adding that the administration values capacity above tribe or religion. “Governor Mutfwang’s government is one that values capacity above tribe or religion. If you can deliver, you will be called upon.”
The Commissioner highlighted the government’s efforts to revitalize primary healthcare centers across the state, particularly to improve maternal and child health. She encouraged the forum to remain united and ready, assuring them that their commitment and sacrifice will not be forgotten.
The visit ended on a note of mutual appreciation and renewed commitment to the success of the present administration. The delegation’s gesture demonstrates the willingness of former government officials to support the current administration’s efforts to drive development and progress in Plateau State.
