Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Pankshin North Constituency have unanimously endorsed the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, as the party’s sole candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
The motion for endorsement, which was ratified by a thunderous voice vote, was moved by Ishaku Su’an and seconded by the former Councillor of Wuchembe Ward, Holi Philibus, during a one-day strategic grassroots engagement tagged “Engagement for Popular Participation in the Governance Process of His Excellency, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang”, held at the Nigerian Legion Hall, Pankshin.
Convener of the meeting and Liaison Officer to the Governor for Pankshin North, Ebenezer Chinang, explained that the gathering was aimed at fostering unity, reconciliation, and collaboration among party members. He stressed that unity remains the party’s greatest strength and must be preserved at all costs.

Chinang, who expressed gratitude to the constituency for endorsing the Governor, noted that a second term would enable Governor Mutfwang to consolidate his remarkable achievements and advance the vision of a “New Plateau” for the benefit of all citizens.
Executive Chairman of Pankshin Local Government, Hon. Felix Gonung, applauded the initiative, describing the meeting as a welcome development. He commended the endorsement as a collective and deliberate decision and urged the people of Pankshin North to rally behind the Governor to ensure his re-election.

Gonung further highlighted ongoing projects across the 20 electoral wards of the council, assuring that his administration remains committed to delivering more people-oriented projects.
In his remarks, Commissioner for Science, Technology, and Innovation, Hon. Cletus Shurkuk, lauded Governor Mutfwang for his courage and far-reaching infrastructural development across the 17 Local Government Areas and other sectors of the state.
Also speaking, the PDP Chairman of Pankshin Local Government, Joseph Gokas, and the Chairman of the Pankshin North PDP Elders’ Forum, Leonard Jitong, called for unity among party members to ensure a resounding victory for the party in the 2027 elections.
Other prominent speakers at the event, including Plateau State PDP Women Leader, Hon. Justina Vrengle; General Manager, Plateau State Agricultural Mechanization Services Corporation, Engr. Shirji Gokwat; Secretary, Plateau State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Emmanuel Panchen; former Sole Administrator of Pankshin LGC, Barr. Hulda Fwangchi; former Pankshin LGC Chairman, Yohana Dukas; member, Plateau State Civil Service Commission, Martina Dakur; and Yakubu Gomos, pledged their readiness to work actively towards the realization of the “Time is Now” administration’s goals.
Similarly, PDP Ward Chairmen from the 10 electoral wards of Pankshin North while presenting their various reports expressed confidence that the grassroots engagement meeting would further strengthen the party’s structures in the constituency. They pledged their unwavering support for Governor Mutfwang’s administration and the PDP in delivering good governance at the grassroots.
