In a bid to enhance movement within the campus, Plateau State University, Bokkos, has embarked on a massive road grading project, covering an estimated 5km stretch of roads within the academic area. This project is particularly notable as it is being funded through internally generated revenue, making it the longest independently funded project by the university in recent years.
The Acting Public Relations Officer of the institution, Masara Kim noted that the project is a testament to the university’s commitment to creating a conducive environment for learning as reiterated by Acting Vice Chancellor Professor Shedrack Best.
“The effort is part of the university’s broader strategy to expand its infrastructure and academic programs. Since its establishment in 2005, the university has grown significantly, boasting 11 new faculties and over 70 programs, a substantial increase from the initial 16 programs” he said.
The project is expected to greatly improve the overall campus experience for students, faculty, and staff.
With its focus on infrastructure development, Plateau State University is poised to become a hub for academic excellence in the region.
