In a surprise move, the Plateau State Government has sacked five commissioners, citing the need for a change in leadership to drive development in the state.
The affected commissioners are Chrysanthus Dawam (Budget), Noel Nkup (Youths and Sports), Jamila Tukur (Tourism), Professor Obed Goselle (Science and Technology), and that of Commerce.
The government has, however, announced their replacements, who are expected to bring fresh ideas and energy to their respective roles.
The new commissioners are Joy Ramnap, a former Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Dr. Sunday Alex from Bassa Local Government Area, Hon. Slyvanus Dongtoe from Quan Pan Local Government Area, Dr. Nicolas Bamnong from Quan Pan Local Government Area, And Hon. Cornelius Doeyok from Quan Pan Local Government Area.
The governor in a statement issued by the secretary to the state government Arch. Samuel Jatau extends his deepest appreciation to the cabinet members who were disengaged from the council, he further wish them well in their future endeavours.
