Councillors of the Mikang Legislative Arm have unanimously endorsed frontline House of Assembly aspirant, Hon. Timdi Nkat, for the Mikang State Assembly seat, while also declaring support for the second-term bid of Governor Caleb Mutfwang ahead of APC primaries.
Our reporter reports that the endorsement went down Tuesday evening, May 12, 2026, at the Legislative Chamber in Tunkus, with councillors from all 18 wards in Mikang LGA present and speaking in one voice.

The meeting was convened by the Leader of the House and Councillor representing Lalin Ward, Rt. Hon. Shepshal Putdet Maikalango, who stressed the importance of sustaining the zoning and power rotation arrangement in Mikang, describing it as key to unity and peaceful political relations in the local government.
Councillors at the meeting said power rotation matters because fairness and balance across the districts keep everyone carried along. They add that leadership should not be held by one district alone.

Our reporter also reports that the councillors take time to commend Governor Mutfwang for the road projects currently going on in Mikang, saying the projects, when completed, would change the way people move and trade.
On the Assembly race, the lawmakers say Hon. Timdi Nkat has the competence, energy, and fresh ideas Mikang needs right now.
Our reporter further reports that the motion for his endorsement is moved by Hon. Alexander Sangpien Yongpien, Councillor for Yepwes Ward, and seconded by Hon. Putehl Jonathan Petei, Councillor for Tehlkang Ward.
When put to a vote, the motion sails through unanimously by a show of hands.
Reacting, Hon. Timdi thanks the councillors for the trust. He promises that if elected, he will focus on quality representation, push for women and youth empowerment, and work on laws that bring real development to every part of Mikang.
