The Executive Chairman of Mikang Local Government Council, Hon. Dr. Benard Soepding Alkali, has felicitated the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel Gapyil, on the occasion of his birthday.
In a statement issued on Monday, August 10, 2026 by the Head of Media and Publicity to the Chairman, Nkat Joseph Lakai, Dr. Benard described the Speaker who represents Mikang State Constituency, as a resilient and committed leader whose years of public service have been defined by courage, humility, and dedication to the welfare of his people.
The Chairman noted that leadership comes with challenges, difficult moments, and competing interests, but said Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel has continued to demonstrate remarkable strength and perseverance in navigating them while remaining focused on the responsibilities entrusted to him by the people.
He commended the Speaker for his contributions to the development of Mikang and Plateau State, particularly his efforts in promoting legislation, projects, and initiatives that have positively impacted the lives of citizens.
Dr. Benard also applauded the Speaker’s leadership of the 10th Plateau Assembly, describing his commitment to stability, cooperation, and inclusiveness as a reflection of his desire to see the state progress.
“Despite the pressures and challenges associated with public office, the Speaker has remained steadfast in his service to the people. I urge him to continue with the same courage, humility, and determination,” the Chairman said.
