It was an evening of engagement and interaction as youth and women in Plateau State gathered for the Mutfwang Unity Night to strengthen unity, reflect on the achievements of the Time is Now administration and begin conversations ahead of the 2027 political season.
The gathering held at Yelwa Club, Jos, brought together youth groups, women leaders, political leaders, heads of agencies, government appointees and members of the State Executive Council for an evening of dialogue, solidarity and entertainment.
Representing Governor Mutfwang, the Chief of Staff, Government House, Hon. Jerry Satmak, thanked the organisers for their initiative and support for the administration, saying the gathering reflected the growing interest of citizens in the governor’s leadership.

Satmak said the governor had continued to demonstrate commitment to the development of Plateau State, pointing to ongoing infrastructure projects and other interventions across the state.
Speaking on insecurity, he noted that the government remained committed to addressing the challenges and assured that efforts were ongoing to improve peace and stability.
The Chief of Staff appealed to supporters to give the 2027 Mutfwang/Piyo Campaign Organisation the necessary cooperation as preparations for the election gather momentum.
Speaking on behalf of the organisers, Mr. Istifanus Gideon said the event was organised to celebrate leadership, bring supporters together and provide an opportunity to reflect on what he described as the transformation taking place under Governor Mutfwang.

Gideon highlighted the administration’s efforts in areas including peace, infrastructure, agriculture and human-capacity development, describing the governor as a leader whose approach had focused on impact rather than noise.
He said the gathering was also a platform for supporters to strengthen their bond and promote unity across ethnic and religious lines in Plateau State.
The Director-General of the 2027 Mutfwang/Piyo Campaign Organisation, Sir Joseph Ari, said unity would be critical to the political journey ahead, noting that the campaign would focus on presenting the administration’s programmes and seeking the trust of the people.

Ari said the campaign would be conducted without acrimony, blackmail or insults, adding that the team would take its message across Plateau State and appeal to voters where the administration believed more work was required.
He also called for stronger participation by Plateau in national politics, arguing that greater representation at the national level could create more opportunities for the state and its people.
Also speaking at the event, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Prince Miaphen, urged youths to support and vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Mutfwang in the 2027 elections.

Miaphen said Governor Mutfwang had provided opportunities for youths to participate in his administration, adding that young people should appreciate the opportunities and support provided by the government.
Other personalities at the event included the Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Grace Suwa; former minority leader and Plateau North senatorial candidate, Sen. Simon Mwadkwon; APC Plateau State Women Leader, Hon. Longret Tokden, Hon. Josephine Abbas Dayilim; former member representing Mangu South state constituency, Hon.
