The Member representing Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Rt. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi and Chairman, House Committee on Navy, on Saturday, April 25th, 2026, presented his stewardship scorecard and achievements in the Green Chamber, highlighting key legislative and constituency projects, while also declaring support for Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang’s second-term bid.
Gagdi made the presentation during a media parley with journalists, bloggers, content creators, social media influencers and other media practitioners at his private residence in Rayfield, Jos.
On his legislative record, Gagdi disclosed that he has sponsored 58 bills at the National Assembly, six of which have been assented to by the President, among which include: conversion of the Federal College of Education, Pankshin to a Federal University of Education, amendment of the Police Act, establishment of the Admiralty University in Delta State and the National Hydrographic Agency.
Gagdi added that he has facilitated job placements for thousands of his constituents in federal agencies. He said his tenure has delivered visible projects across PKK, including the rehabilitation of nine major roads in Pankshin, construction of 16 roads in Kanam, and the ongoing construction of 38 small bridges and three major bridges across the constituency. Other interventions include the provision of potable water and empowerment programs.
He added that he has also provided financial support to educational institutions, including the Federal University in Pankshin, to aid expansion and development.
The lawmaker also addressed allegations of bias in job placements, dismissing claims that opportunities were distributed along religious lines, which he described as false narratives geared towards creating hatred and damaging his public image.
“Employment opportunities are based on competence and credibility, not religion. Both Christians and Muslims have benefited from placements in federal agencies,” he said.
While speaking during the parley, the two-term lawmaker expressed support for Governor Mutfwang’s second-term ambition, citing ongoing infrastructure projects across Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam.
According to him, several road projects funded by the state government will impact communities, adding that his support is based on performance.
“My support is for the interest of the people. The governor has shown commitment through projects on ground, especially roads,” he said.
Speaking on concerns over the zoning of political positions in PKK, Gagdi expressed strong confidence in his chances of securing re-election in 2027, citing an impressive legislative record and sustained grassroots engagement across his constituency.
“The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria does not limit how many times I can contest in elections. I urge my opponents to engage voters with ideas rather than sentiments,” he said.
The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to sustained service, pledging to continue championing initiatives that drive development in his constituency and strengthen national unity.
He further stressed that attracting federal institutions to Pankshin, Kanke, and Kanam remains a deliberate strategy to stimulate local development and create opportunities for the people.
Gagdi assured his constituents of continued commitment to effective representation and development, noting that more projects are underway across the constituency.
The lawmaker also called on Nigerians to continue supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu whose policies according to him might be harsh and hard now but will have long-term benefits for Nigerians.
First elected in 2019 and re-elected in 2023, Gagdi has built a reputation as an active and accessible lawmaker. As preparations gradually begin for 2027, his confidence and track record are expected to shape the political landscape in PKK, where performance and grassroots influence will likely determine the outcome.
